Day 15 - On the Tanzania Border

At Richard Chacha's church on the Tanzania border, more children came forward to give their lives to Jesus. Although the picture quality isn't the best, what was taking place is priceless. The Bible says the angels rejoice in heaven over just one sinner who is saved. There must have been a whole choir singing when these children came forward. I would have loved to have been in heaven to hear it.

Well, actually I did hear that in a dream many years ago. The angels' singing was so awesome! Not only can't I find words to describe it, but I knew they were making harmonies and singing in musical scales that we don't have here on earth. I was so excited in my dream that I began forcing myself to wake up to transcribe the song. Then I woke up and thought, "Now, that wasn't very smart of me. Not only don't I know how to write the music of the angel choir, but I could have enjoyed their singing longer if I had just kept dreaming!"

Neil taught on the names of God, which helps people see God through God's eyes. When Neil came to Jehovah Jireh, Francis commented that he had not missed that point. In 2023, Francis saw God's provision of a large machine to help repair the large screen TVs, which is work done in Francis's shop. He is now one of the very few in his part of Kenya with such a machine, and his business is suddenly flourishing. Also, the woman with the handicapped son has now purchased her heifer.

As Atkinson drove back from the Tanzania border after the meeting, he was driving too fast and didn't see a tope. Neil's head collided with the roof of the car. He would have weathered that ok because Neil never seemed to suffer from hitting his head on things, but there was an eagle flag in his cap held by two pins that left fresh holes on top of his head. Then, as they were coming up Mary's driveway, the brakes failed, and Atkinson's car collided with a pothole. Atkinson and another man took a motorcycle to town to bring a mechanic who determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. What is a trip to Kenya without transmission repairs? Scott Voss, where are you when we need you? Just kidding. 😉Neil had a serious discussion with Atkinson and Francis about needing to slow down while driving but then told me it may be retribution for how he drove when he was young. He said, "The chicks have come home to roost."

As the men headed toward the village to find a mechanic, Neil took a walk to enjoy the lovely views from Mary's hill country. On his walk he saw a tea shed where the tea leaves are dumped on the floor and sorted according to quality before being trucked to the tea factory. The village people use the poorest quality tea, but because that is what the children grow up drinking, they often prefer it to the more expensive tea that is sought after in Europe.

Neil wrote, "The day ended on a fantastic note! Thomas, who suffers from extreme alcoholism, asked me and Francis for ministry. He said he wants to become like me. 😌 He thanked me for all I had done for him over the years. Poor Francis is really shot tonight. Our day started at 3:30 a.m. and included a significant vehicle breakdown. But all in all, this has been a great trip!"

Prayer
  • Lord, our guys in Kenya need your miraculous power to improve their driving, keep them safe on the roads, and strengthen their vehicles.
  • We thank you, Jesus, that this trip has gone so well. Lord, your Holy Spirit has been drawing people to your love for them. Even though they have many needs, your presence brings them so much joy!
  • Lord, be with the pastor's wife, who has been so seriously abused. Give Neil and Francis wisdom when they meet with her. Help her to be able to speak to them. Give her hope for better things from your hand. Heal her in the months and years to come of the anguish and trauma she has suffered.
  • We ask for supernatural strength and energy for Neil and Francis to finish the interviews and teachings.
Love,
Ruth
